The Newcastle Airport Board has appointed Linc Horton as CEO of Newcastle Airport in what will be a momentous year for the airport with the imminent opening of its International Terminal.
Horton, who will commence his role on 5 May, has been global head of property for Toll Group for the last few years. Prior that he was part of the Melbourne Airport (Australia Pacific Airports Pty Ltd) executive team as their chief of property from 2008-2020. He has previously worked in the UK as part of the BAA Lynton executive team as Investment Director accountable for the company’s investment strategy and their Airport Property Partnership.
During his time at Melbourne Airport, he had carriage of the commercial property business, capital projects delivery team, and facilities management. Linc was instrumental in the planning and development of the airport’s commercial estate, growing it to a $105 million per annum revenue business. Horton is well known and respected for his deal making and commercial acumen and relationships with stakeholders.
“We are thrilled that Linc will be joining the airport to lead the airport team. He comes to the airport with a long and outstanding experience in airports and a history of achievements in property development and other airport related negotiations,” Newcastle Airport Board chair, Jude Munro AO, said. “We know that Linc will be an active contributor to the business networks in the Hunter region in his role as CEO, Newcastle Airport.”
Horton is currently chair, North Link, a Melbourne business association that seeks to facilitate actions that support the sustainable economic development of Melbourne’s north and bring economic and social benefits to the region and its people. Linc is also the current deputy chair of the Regional Development Australia, Melbourne Committee.
“I am excited to be joining the airport at this time,” Horton said. “It is clear the airport plays a pivotal role in the success of the Hunter Region and I look forward to playing my part. My wife and I are looking forward to our move to the Hunter region with all that it has to offer a family of teenage children.”
Current interim CEO Andrew Warrender will return to his role as Executive GM Aviation & Air Freight Business Development.
