BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — As part of its ongoing commitment to safety and employee development, Port Canaveral recently hosted a rigorous two-day Aerial Lift Training at the Maritime Center.
Nearly 50 employees from across the Port participated in the session, which is designed to improve safety standards and ensure all personnel are well-versed in the operation of scissor lifts and aerial boom lifts.
The training covered essential safety protocols and operational techniques tailored to various Port departments.
Employees from a wide range of areas—including facilities, cruise automation, maintenance, landscaping, cargo crane operations, engineering, and information technology—attended the sessions, underscoring the Port’s dedication to ensuring safety in all operational spheres.
With the use of aerial lifts being common in a variety of tasks at the Port, ranging from routine maintenance to large-scale engineering projects, the comprehensive training ensures employees understand not only how to operate the machinery safely but also how to identify and mitigate potential risks.
