Zoom announced that it will rename the chat function originally called Zoom Chat to Zoom Team Chat, and accelerate more functions to help companies communicate more quickly and securely with internal and external parties.

Zoom Team Chat is no longer just a small dialog box under the video window; it’s become a multi-functional contact center. Through chat rooms and channels, you can connect team communications, monitor project progress, and stay connected with your entire team and partners. Team Chat integrates messaging, file sharing, third-party app integration, video, voice, and whiteboarding features to facilitate seamless collaboration.

Zero-breakpoint internal and external communication experience

On Zoom Team Chat, all users can collaborate on a whiteboard, convert chats into video or conference calls, and share dynamic messages at any time, all within the Zoom platform.

Zoom Team Chat isn’t just for internal communication; it also provides seamless, secure communication with external parties like consultants, vendors, and clients. When an external user joins a chat channel, they’ll see a notification in the “Compose” box, letting them know if there are any external users in the group before sending a message.

Use Zoom Team Chat to diversify your collaboration

Zoom Team Chat will be launching six new features by the end of this month, including:

To share a video conference conversation to a Team Chat room:Meeting hosts can choose to share in-meeting conversations in Team Chat, ensuring that important links and key information from the meeting are shared.

To schedule a meeting in a Team Chat room or channel:Users can easily send meeting invitations to members in chat rooms and channels, saving time on finalizing meetings and effectively improving efficiency.

Turn on the “Message Reminder” function to improve work efficiency:Pin important messages and set reminders to process and reply to them when you’re free, avoiding missing important messages when you’re busy.

Instantly reply to meeting attendance status via chat room message:When receiving a last-minute meeting invitation, users can now quickly reply to the inviter with a message, immediately informing them if there is a meeting conflict or if they would like to call back later.

Third-party software integration:Integrate external applications into Zoom Teams Chat to streamline your workflow.

Use Zoom Team Chat on any device: The new version of Team Chat uses a progressive web application (PWA), allowing users to use Team Chat directly from the browser, so users can collaborate through the chat room outside of the meeting even without using the Zoom client.

Zoom’s new visual debut

In addition to announcing a completely redesigned Zoom Team Chat, Zoom also unveiled a brand new visual identity! This includes updates to the company’s corporate colors, font style, and product iconography. Zoom Team Chat is part of Zoom’s new brand look and feel. The unveiling of these new visual elements marks the beginning of Zoom’s rebranding initiative.

While the familiar Zoom brand logo will remain unchanged, the newly released key visuals feature an icon replacing the “O” in Zoom’s name, conveying the concept of Zoom as a single platform connecting multiple connections. The new Zoom Team Chat icon is placed first in the key visuals, emphasizing its role as the hub connecting all workflows.
