Flagler Museum announces new executive director, CEO
The Trustees of the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach recently announced that Amanda H. Skier has succeeded John M. Blades as the executive director and CEO of the museum. Skier officially took the reins of the Flagler Museum on Feb. 4. She has a B.A. in American Studies from George Washington University and her M.A. in Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Prior to this appointment, Skier served for four years as the education director at the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach and for nearly nine years as its president and CEO.
Boynton Beach Online Chamber of Commerce names COO
The Boynton Beach Online Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Maria Rowley as chief operating officer. Rowley will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s directors, as well as the chamber’s day-to-day operations and strategic plans. She will work with the executive chairman and the executive vice president to implement their vision into daily operations. The Boynton Beach Online Chamber of Commerce unites members and residents to create a vibrant city while providing essential tools and support for all businesses.
FAU professor re-elected chair of Holy Cross health board
Florida Atlantic University adjunct professor and CEO of Artemis Synergies Consulting Rudy Molinet has been re-elected chair of the Holy Cross health board. Under Molinet’s leadership, working with the executive leadership team during the past year, Holy Cross has experienced tremendous growth in their ambulatory footprint, with several new locations and new providers joining the health system. As CEO of Artemis Synergies, Molinet and his team provide executive coaching, business consulting and strategic planning services specializing in healthcare organizations. Fort Lauderdale-based Holy Cross Hospital, dba Holy Cross Health, is a full-service, not-for-profit, Catholic teaching hospital operating in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy.
Hilton West Palm Beach bolsters food, beverage department
Hilton West Palm Beach recently announced two new additions to its food and beverage program as it seeks to elevate and expand on its offerings in downtown West Palm Beach. Timothy Ahrens has been named director of food and beverage at the 4-star hotel, bringing two decades of industry experience to a growing department. He will oversee operations for all Hilton West Palm Beach restaurants and bars (Galley, Moody Tongue, Mezze, La Playa, and Palma Lobby Bar), retail operations (provisions), meetings and events, and in-room dining. Jayden Blashinsky has joined Hilton West Palm Beach as general manager of Galley, the award-winning signature grill house and bar. Blashinsky comes to West Palm Beach from Key West, where he served as restaurant manager for Casa Marina Resort, a Curio Collection by Hilton resort.
Statewide firm with South Florida offices names two new partners
Shutts & Bowen LLP has announced that Daniel J. Caplow and Cassandra M. Capote have been named partners. Caplow is based in the West Palm Beach office, where he is a member of the real estate practice group. Capote is based in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen LLP. Shutts & Bowen LLP, established in 1910, is a full-service business law firm with approximately 280 lawyers in offices in Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Sarasota, Tallahassee, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
West Palm Beach school adds two members to board of trustees
Oxbridge Academy recently added Gregory S. Belton and Taylor N. Gerhardt to its board of trustees. Belton serves as executive chairman of Hub International Ontario (Canada), a regional division of Hub International Limited employing over 18,000 professionals across the U.S. and Canada. Gerhardt, president and managing principal of FrostPoint Capital, founded his commercial real estate investment and management firm in 2020. Oxbridge Academy is the premier independent, co-educational college-preparatory school for grades 6-12 in West Palm Beach.
Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center recent hire is familiar face
Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center has named Samantha Ing, MSHA, to the position of chief strategy officer. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth plans. Ing returns to Palm Beach Health Network where she previously held the position of cardiovascular service line administrator. Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, the largest health care network in Palm Beach County, is a 199-bed acute care hospital.
Local family law attorneys receive awards at Orlando event
Two Palm Beach County family law attorneys recently received notable recognition at the Marital & Family Law Review Course event held in January in Orlando. Kimberly Rommel-Enright, a supervising attorney with Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, was named recipient of this year’s Family Law Section of The Florida Bar ‘Visionary Award.’ Since 1992, Rommel-Enright has been a tireless advocate of the underserved in Palm Beach County, handling adoption, custody, paternity and guardian cases, as well as a range of cases for members of the LGBTQ community. Jorge M. Cestero, senior partner at Sasser, Cestero & Roy, PA in West Palm Beach, was named recipient of this year’s ‘Melinda P. Gamot Award,’ given collaboratively by the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar and The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers – Florida Chapter. Cestero is board certified in Marital and Family Law by The Florida Bar and is a past chair and current Trustee of the Family Law Section.
