Safety Council elects new board member

The Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. has announced the election of Courtney Palmer to its board of directors. Palmer currently serves as the safety manager for Guardian Fleet Services. Guardian Fleet Services is the largest provider of towing, recovery, and specialized transportation services in the United States. Palmer brings a dynamic combination of safety leadership and financial expertise, uniquely positioning her to support the council’s growth and its mission to promote health, safety, and education throughout the region. Founded in 1967, The Safety Council of Palm Beach County has served as South Florida’s leading safety resource for over five decades, offering trusted training and education to residents, businesses, and organizations.

Greenacres principal to lead Adopt-A-Family board

Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches, Inc. recently announced that longtime Palm Beach County educator Elizabeth “Eli” Morales has assumed the role of board chair for a two-year term. Principal of Okeeheelee Middle School in Greenacres, Morales brings more than 25 years of experience in public education. She has been a dedicated member of the Adopt-A-Family board of directors since 2018. Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches, Inc. is dedicated to providing programs, services, and solutions to Palm Beach County families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

College prep nonprofit fills two leadership positions

Bound For College, the Delray Beach-based nonprofit that prepares low-income students for college, recently announced that it has named Donna Sauer as CEO and Shannon Solis as its chief program officer. Sauer has served as Bound For College’s chief financial officer since its inception in 2012 and has an extensive resume in the South Florida corporate world. Solis has served in a leadership role with Bound For College since 2019. She has been teaching in Palm Beach County for over 25 years. Founded in 2012, Bound For College provides ACT/SAT tutoring, mentorship, life skills support, college application and scholarship assistance for students who need more than just ambition to succeed. It currently serves more than 200 students in grades 6–12 who are committed to pursuing higher education.

Physician named to Caridad Center board

Caridad Center recently announced the appointment of Dr. Sandra Awaida to its board of directors. Awaida brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience spanning hospital, academic, private practice, and pharmaceutical industry settings. Founded in 1989, Caridad Center is a Palm Beach County-based free healthcare clinic providing comprehensive care to 7,500 patients and delivering over 70,000 services each year to families living in poverty.

Mounts Botanical Garden names director of development

Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden, the nonprofit organization that operates the 20-acre tropical oasis in the heart of the Palm Beaches, has appointed Andre Bogsan as its new director of development. Bogsan will lead initiatives to strengthen philanthropic support for the garden, including helping to advance its master plan. Located in West Palm Beach, Mounts Botanical Garden features more than 7,000 species of tropical and sub-tropical plants and is Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest botanical garden.

Divorce lawyer specialist recognized for work

Eddie Stephens of Stephens & Stevens PLLC was recently recognized by his peers in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for his high caliber work in family law. Stephens & Stevens focus is on high-conflict, high-asset divorce cases helping clients with domestic legal issues such as property division, business valuation, child support and spousal support, child custody and visitation, post-judgment modifications, child relocation, and same-sex marriages, and both prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Goldlaw lawyer garners accolade for 15th time

This is the 15th year that Kuvin has been included in The Best Lawyers in America. Founded in 2002, Goldlaw has offices in West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie and represents clients injured in auto accidents, slip-and-falls, nursing home abuse, sexual abuse, or any incident where someone’s negligence causes injury or death.

U.S. Sugar promotes from within, names tech leader

U.S. Sugar, a South Florida-based sugarcane and vegetable farming and processing business, recently announced that it has tapped longtime IT leader Matt Miller to lead its technology division. He was named the company’s vice president for information technology. Miller is a Belle Glade native. He and his wife, Myranda, live in Alva and have two children, Tyler and Hannah.
