The West Palm Beach VA Health Care System recently announced the appointment of Dr. James B. Post, MD, as their new chief of medicine. Post joins the facility from the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, New York, where his career began in 2003 specializing in clinical nephrology.

Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC, recently announced that Ethel L. Velasquez has joined the firm, of counsel, in its West Palm Beach office, where she will focus her practice on personal injury litigation. Raised in West Palm Beach, Velasquez is a member of the Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association and Palm Beach County Florida Association of Women Lawyers and volunteers her time in support of the nonprofits Latinos in Action, El Sol and Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith is a third-generation personal injury law firm working across West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Wellington, Stuart and Bradenton.

Orthopedic Center welcomes latest CFO

Jordan Mezoff

Jordan Mezoff has joined the Orthopedic Center of Palm Beach County as chief financial officer. Jordan began his career at Lockheed Martin as a financial analyst, followed by roles in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ deals advisory practice, where he advised on several multi-billion dollar mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, and at FPL FiberNet, where he played a key role in the sale to Crown Castle International. The Orthopedic Center of Palm Beach County has served the community for over 75 years and has offices in Atlantis, Boynton Beach, Boca Raton & Wellington.

Jones Foster adds to trust, estate litigation practice group

Jones Foster, a 100-year-old commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach and Jupiter, recently announced that Lucia E. DeFilippo has joined the firm’s trust and estate litigation practice group based in its West Palm Beach office. Prior to joining the firm, DeFilippo was an assistant state attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit in Fort Myers where she gained significant trial experience.

North county property management firm earns accreditation

Realtime Home Watch has earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association for the seventh year. The association was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada. President and CEO Beth White is a working owner, overseeing a staff of 22 employees on a daily basis. White owns Realtime HomeWatch which performs “Snowbird” home watch in north Palm Beach County.

Singer Island couple’s philanthropy earns them award

The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, a not-for-profit organization that leads partnerships with donors, nonprofits and community members to solve the region’s chronic and emerging issues, recently announced that Sherry and Tom Barrat of Singer Island are the recipients of the 2025 McIntosh Award. The prestigious award, which is named after Winsome and Michael McIntosh, who founded the Community Foundation in 1972, is presented annually to an individual or organization who has made significant contributions to the community. The Barrats will be honored at the 12th Annual Founders Luncheon at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 26, 2025.

West Palm Beach hospital gains assistant chief financial officer

HCA Florida JFK North Hospital recently announced the appointment of Gianluca “Luca” Salvatori as the new assistant chief financial officer. With a distinguished 17-year career in healthcare finance and operations, Salvatori brings extensive experience in managing complex business models, process improvement, and strategic planning to his new role. He joins the West Palm Beach-based hospital from Kaiser Permanente.
